The thing with Milwaukee is this- it’s cool, but it doesn't come up in most people's minds when they think of a place for a weekend getaway. It’s often outshinesd by Chicago or New York, but Milwaukee deserves a spot on your travel itinerary. Its reputation as a working-class town of brewskis, bowling and polka halls still remains, but the Calatrava-designed art museum, Harley-Davidson Museum and stylish eating and shopping hideaways have converted Wisconsin's largest city into an unpretentiously cool place.
