Rock Hill. South Carolina

Rock Hill is a enchanting college town, with the Winthrop University campus comprising one of its five historic districts. The surrounding area is home to the Carowinds amusement park large enough to span two states. The County Library hosts the Patchwork Tales Storytelling Festival once a year, which features musicians, storytellers, and artists from all over the world.

While there were some settlers in the 1830s and 1840s, the town didn't grow significantly until the South Carolina Railroad Company extended a rail line through the area years later.
