Victoria is the capital of British Columbia and sits on the southern end of Vancouver Island. It enjoys a mild climate and an abundance of trails and parks – including amusement-filled Beacon Hill – and is a destination for outdoor activities. Its origin as a British colony shows itself in its Victorian architecture, such as the Craigdarroch Castle mansion. Fueled by an increasingly younger population, a subtle revolution has seen a transformation from tourist pubs, eateries and stores into bohemian shops, coffee bars and innovative restaurants that would make any city proud.
