Located in the shadow of the Blue Ridge Mountains, Charlottesville is often ranked among the country's best cities to live in. This culturally diverse town is home to the University of Virginia, which attracts the Southern aristocracy and artsy liberals alike. The UVA grounds and pedestrian downtown area area overflow with students, couples, professors and even the occasional celebrity under a perpetually blue sky.

Charlottesville was the home of two Presidents, Thomas Jefferson and James Monroe. Both served as Governor of Virginia, and commuted to the capitol, Richmond, along the historic Three Notch'd Road. Orange, 26 miles from the city, was the hometown of President James Madison. Monticello is located 3 miles south of the city, and is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site- it attracts nearly 500,000 tourists every year.
