Newtown Square. Pennsylvania

Newtown square is part of he oldest township of its countyand named for the only established road at the time of establishment, Newtown Street Road. By 1696, the number of residents had grown large enough to hold their own meeting in 1711. At that time, Newtown was essentially a farming community, though it had a blacksmith and wheelwright shops as well as taverns and inns.
