Bowling Green is a city in and the county seat of Warren County, Kentucky; as of the 2014 cencus it had a population of 62,479 made it the third largest city in Kentucky after Louisville and Lexington.
Founded in 1798, Bowling Green was the interim capital of Confederate Kentucky during the Civil War. The city inspired the 1967 Everly Brothers' song "Bowling Green", and today it is the home base for manufacturers such as General Motors and Fruit of the Loom. The Bowling Green Plant has been the HQ for all Chevrolet Corvettes made since 1981. Bowling Green is also home to Western Kentucky University. In 2014, Forbes magazine ranked Bowling Green among the Top 25 Best Places to Retire.
