America's "Mountain Zoo" -- the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo -- lets you see more than 750 animals in well-replicated environments. This is one of the few zoos left in the U.S. where you can still feed the giraffes, and these gorgeous animals are housed so they'll see you at eye level. Plus, views of the surrounding Rockies are great.

All the WWII planes housed at the National Museum of World War II Aviation actually fly, but most are grounded and ready for you to tour.
